SENIOR LECTURER IN THE SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY, DEAKIN UNIVERSITY
Sharon is a researcher in the Deakin University Centre for Social and Early Emotional Development and the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child. Her research is primarily based in personality psychology, with a specific focus on human-computer interaction.
Along with overseeing the design and delivery of a core undergraduate subject in psychology, Sharon leads a research team that investigates the impact of technology on health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
Her current research is focused on the developmental impacts of screen use by toddlers and pre-schoolers, and the effects of social media use on adolescent wellbeing.

Jeromy's program of research focuses on individual differences, well-being, and performance.
Major threads of research include:
(a) the dynamics of motivation and human performance;
(b) selection and recruitment; and
(c) broad and narrow models of personality traits.

PHD CANDIDATE IN THE SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY, DEAKIN UNIVERSITY
Sumudu is a current PhD candidate under Dr Horwood and Dr Anglim. Her research thesis primarily focuses on exploring the concept of “problematic mobile device use” in early childhood.
Her current research involves three main components which investigate
(1) potential developmental impacts of mobile screen use by toddlers and pre-schoolers;
(2) parental perspectives of young children’s mobile screen use; and
(3) the digital environmental design of apps and content that young children use on their mobile screens.
